Accessibility Consultation

Are you setting up a new venture or service or do you simply want to have a conversation to ensure that your understanding of access and disabled people’s barriers is where you would like it to be?
I offer a consultation where you will benefit from my lived experiences as well as the knowledge I have gained from working with other disabled people to help ensure whatever you are working on is as accessible as possible.

How it works

1

Initial call

Initial call (on Teams or Zoom) to understand your project, what you need help with and to see if CYP a good fit for your needs.
2

Timeline

If yes, then we would come up with a consultation timeline.
3

Process & reviews

Begin the working process with regular reviews.

FAQs

What is your personal experience with disability and how does it inform your consulting work?

I have been a disabled person my entire life. I was introduced to The Social Model of Disability eight years ago, and since then it informs all of my work, therefore a lot of my work looks at the barriers faced by all disabled people and how to remove them.

What specific expertise or knowledge do you bring to the table regarding disability issues?

As well as lived experience, I have worked on projects that assisted with the implementation of The Accessible Information Standard (AIS,) and I am a long standing member of The Disability Design Reference Group, which advises Transport for Greater Manchester on ensuring that everything from infrastructure to marketing materials are as accessible as possible.

How do you tailor your consulting approach to meet the unique needs of each client?

I work in a person-centred way, so we would discuss your needs and collaborate on the best way to meet them.
